What To Do When You've Made A Sale on Poshmark

Updated: Jan 23, 2021

Just made a sale and don't know how to package or ship it? You've come to the right place! This article will go through the basic steps for someone who has just starting out on Poshmark. I tried to use cheap or free options for this but I will go over what I use in later posts so stay tuned! If you have just signed up for Poshmark and want to sell but don't know how to get started, check out my article, Beginner's guide for selling on Poshmark.

When you make a sale on Poshmark, you will get an email and a notification.

Click on the notification to see details about your sale, it will look something like this:

Step 1: Wrapping the Item

If you have tissue paper, fold it hotdog style. Then fold your item as neatly and tight as possible, this will help it from getting messed up while being shipped. Roll the tissue paper around the item slightly tight and tape it in place.

I generally have a bunch of tissue paper around the house or I'll find good deals at TjMaxx. Here's a pack of American Greetings Pastel Tissue Paper (40-Sheets) for about $4 on Amazon.

Step 2: Finding a Box or Mailer

You can order free boxes and mailers from USPS's website. All you have to do is create a free account first. The delivery usually takes a bit so order in advance! I prefer to use the Padded Flat Rate Envelope because it is self-adhesive and isn't bulky. You can also reuse boxes you had in your house as long as you remove previous labels and stickers!

Step 3: Printing Shipping Labels

You can either click on the notification on Poshmark and click "Download shipping label" or go to the email and scroll to the bottom to print. You can print and fold the paper into a Customs Form Envelope to stick onto your package or just cut out the label and tape it on with clear duct tape.

Step 4: Sending the Package

You can either go to a USPS drop off location or use the USPS Package Pick-Up service. If you choose "pick during regular mail delivery", it will be free of charge. Perfect for quarantine!

Best of luck!

Please stay safe, and stay informed,

Yeliz
